6 Simple Ways Writing Articles Will Improve Your Link Popularity and Increase Visitors to Your Web S Comments (0)

Linking

Article writing and distribution creates free one way incoming links back to your web site. Link building in this manner increases your web sites exposure, visitors and you overall search engine rankings. By using the following techniques you can dramatically improve your web site traffic in a very short period of time.

1. Create Viral Content For Your Web Site - Add your own resource box/byline to your articles and post them on your web site. You could allow your visitors to publish the articles on their web site if they also include your resource box and keep your hyperlink active. This will spread your link around the internet like a virus and increase your link popularity fast.

2. Submit your articles to free content web sites for other webmasters to reprint for publishing. When you include your resource box at the end of the article with your website URL you will not only get free advertising but you will get a link back to your site. This will increase your link popularity and cause your site to rank higher in the search engines.

3. Combine your articles into a free e-book. You can place your business ad and hyperlinks back to your site in the e-book. E-book creating software is inexpensive and easy to use. By giving your e-book away to visitors and allowing them to link to your site to give it away to their visitors will multiply your web site traffic, exposure and link popularity.

4. Create an article directory on your web site. People will visit your web site to get the free information. By allowing them to reprint your articles with the stipulation that they keep the resource box and hyperlink active you will increase your link popularity. Also allow your visitors to place a link on their web site that links back to your article directory. By providing your free “instant article directory” to their visitors you will increase your web site’s exposure and receive a percentage of their visitors as well.

5. Offer other web sites, that are relevant to your own, free content articles about your area of expertise to post on their web site. Include your link on all of your content. Your article should be related to your web site because it will bring you visitors that are interested in your product or service.

6. Use an article distribution service that distributes articles to thousands of web sites, newsletters and ezines at one time. Your article will be published on dozens of web sites almost immediately. I used this technique with an article distribution service called thephantomwriters.com and got literally thousands of links from only four articles. Distribute your articles several times and you will increase your exposure. Change your article’s title and redistribute it several times more to maximize your article’s potential.

As you can clearly see, writing and distributing articles can have a profound affect on your web site’s exposure. There is absolutely no better or faster way to increase your web site’s exposure, link popularity and search engine rankings.

Writing Articles to Gain Link Popularity and Increase Trust and Credibility - The Secret Most Overlo Comments (0)

Linking

As I look through my various forum links and review some of my company email, I keep coming across questions relating to generating inbound links to increase web site ranking. No matter who you are, if you have a web site online you are always looking for ways to improve your link popularity. While most SEO practitioners will tell you that getting other related, non-competing, websites to link to you should be high on your priority list if you want better PR from Google or better rankings, most web site designers miss the most obvious way to get these valuable one way inbound links. There is a way to do that plus generate additional content for your web site at the same time. You can get those quality inbound links while expanding your content which will bring the search engine spiders to your web site more often. By following my suggestions, you will be able to kill two birds with one stone, and make your visitors happy while increasing your rankings and making the spiders happy all at once.

Everyone is an expert at something.

It’s true, everyone has many years of experience at something. Maybe you have been in a job for the past 20 years and know just about every aspect of it, or maybe you’ve been making paper airplanes as a hobby for just as much time. Either way, you have 20 years of knowledge about something that others could be looking for information to read on those topics. Maybe you have already built a web site taking advantage of that knowledge and are looking to use it as a means to make a living, or maybe it’s about a hobby and you want to make a living with that. Either way, each of us has valuable knowledge that other people might want. Why not take some time, sit down and think about your business experience or hobby, and then write some “How To” articles about it? If you have a web site that already uses that hobby, or work experience, then it is a good way to add content to your web site, and it’s also a good way to help you get those inbound links you need to increase your rankings.

Using the Knowledge to Gain Link Popularity through Article Writing.

Let’s say you have 20 years of experience with a company where the only thing you did was to conduct interviews to hire new employees. Let’s further say you were so good at this that it was the only thing your company wanted you to do. Because your results were so good, it’s the only thing you did do. Maybe your prospects always worked out and were some of the hardest and most competent workers your company ever hired. You could write some articles on how to interview job candidates to get the best employees, or maybe write articles telling job seekers what companies are looking for in their potential employees. If you have a web site for job seekers, or a web site for learning how to interview employees, you could then use the articles for additional web site content. It’s already a known and proven fact that the search engine spiders can be conditioned to visit your site more often through your patterns of adding content. The more often a site updates, the more often the spiders come to visit. The more often they visit, the better chances that your web site will begin to jump in rankings because it is viewed as a fresh content site that updates frequently and would be more valuable to visitors.

Some might think there are just some topics so vague or uninteresting that it wouldn’t be worth writing anything in that topic area, but the professionals know there are readers for almost any topic area, and no one topic is to be avoided because of poor readership. It all comes down to your writing style, ease of reading, and your credibility. If you can write gripping content that pulls your readers in and informs them, then it doesn’t matter what you write about. In the end, the reader will be looking for you and not your article. This is not something that happens over night. It takes a lot of writing and a lot of time to hone your skills to that point. It takes writing daily and forcing oneself to try different topics. It’s good to start out with what you like, but to become a professional and have flexibility, you have to write about other things too. Not only will this experience help you become a more professional writer, it will also help to develop your communication skills in the written format. As you continue to use better forms of writing and grammar, you will begin to write content pages for your site that rank better with the search engines. It’s a win-win situation all the way around.

Articles to Increase One-way Inbound Links and Web Site Ranking.

Speaking of those rankings, that reminds me of those one-way links I spoke about earlier. After you write your article, you can submit it to other places online which will post it to their web site, offer it to other web sites as free content, or both. Most of these places will allow you to submit your own information for an “Author’s Box” or “Author’s Bio” area which they publish at the bottom of each article. These are things like information about you, your web site, and LINKS you can add back to your site. There you go, instant high quality in-bound links without the need to add the other web site’s link to yours, no begging, no paying extortion amounts of fees for an ad, just good old fashioned content to promote your own abilities and web site. It’s the easiest way to get a one-way in-bound link to your site IF you can develop your writing skills and your content viewed as valuable to another web site. If you write garbage, your information isn’t credible and is full of factual holes, or your writing puts people to sleep, then chances are that your articles aren’t going to do anything more than waste your time. That’s why it’s critically important to get into the habit of writing often and learning the flow of your chosen language.

You see, the more you write, the more you train your ear to listen to the written words, and the more you learn what “sounds” right and what doesn’t quite seem to make sense. As I write an article, I am talking within my mind while I write. Yes, maybe I am a bit strange, but it works for me. I add my intonations and elevate my voice for emphasis, and I try to find ways to convey that in my writing. I’m no “expert”, but this is what works for me, and I have a decent amount of articles published, which means I must be doing something right. WebProWorld and WebProNews seem to like me, or at least my writing style or the topics I cover. Maybe it’s just my sincerity LOL. Hey, I do my best. I try to offer the facts and ensure that I do my research before I write any article outside my field of knowledge. Character helps to build a writer, and a healthy dose of commitment to the reader doesn’t hurt either, but you have to find ways to build credibility and trust. Without those two things, nobody is going to read what you write, and if they do, they aren’t going to be likely to click on links back to your site. You have to get their attention and compel them to want more of your writing. That’s what will make your one-way inbound links even more valuable.

The Most MISSED Secret to Link Popularity through Writing Articles.

OK, so now you have the knowledge to write articles and submit them as a means to gain valuable one-way links to your web site, what are you going to do with it? Are you going to sabotage your own web site by failing to pay attention to the link you formulate in the articles submitted? The more articles I read, I tend to find a common error repeated by authors all over the internet. Now granted, these are writers, not SEO specialists, but this is just an example where it pays to round out your knowledge in many areas of web site promotion, ranking, and design. The BIGGEST mistake I see authors make when attempting to gain inbound links is the keywords they FAIL to use within those links. You see, so many writers worry about branding their name. That works just fine for writers building portfolios for selling their copy writing abilities where name recognition becomes the search term a searcher looks for, but if you aren’t a writer and are just using your knowledge to gain inbound links, then you need to use your keywords in those links back to your web site. It’s so simple that most times it’s overlooked. Many will also use a company name as the link back to their web site. Many of my articles have ended up that way because I overlooked the obvious too. Nevertheless, by following this method, it is a sure way to increase your company name, or your name, but does NOTHING to increase the link popularity for the keywords applying to your site.

Take for instance Sanders Consultation Group Plus. That’s my company’s name. We provide web site design services, image and graphical art services, business consultation services, SEO services, and just about anything else to get your web site promoted, up, and running. I tend to take a page-by-page view of our site and link popularity. What I mean by that is I take various areas, choose specific keywords, and search terms I want our site to gain in rank popularity. I have recently done some page optimizing for our web site design area; incidentally, web site design has been the most searched term for web site design services. It corresponds to one of the services we offer, and it’s the most popular search-term people use when searching for that type of service. Let’s say I write an article talking about web site design. The next article I write on web site design will include the company name, Sanders Consultation Group Plus, but it will also include the term “web site design” linked to the page we have recently optimized for our web site design services. As I already said earlier, this is such a simple concept that most people often overlook, and it can be a detriment to your link popularity goals. And as we optimize each area of our site, I will continue to write articles based on the area keywords and phrases, and will then place links in my Author’s Box to link back to those optimized pages.

It’s a reported fact that one-way in-bound links are worth more than reciprocal links. However, for many web site designers and webmasters, the ways to gain them has been somewhat elusive. Many fear that imparting their knowledge will give competitors an edge over the writer’s own business. What most fails to consider is the number of people that start out as the “do it yourselfer” and then realize there is more work than they intended to do. When they find your articles, you become a source for them to get their work done without their need to invest large amounts of time on the project. This is where the benefits of article writing will pay off, especially if you gain credibility and trust through your readers. Even if a competitor does notice one of your articles, sometimes they can be so impressed and overwhelmed that they’ll write things about you, include links to you, and you still come out on top. I’ve seen it happen before. Someone reads something so profound that it changes his or her life. They tend to tell others about the change and how the change occurred.

Articles are a valuable way to get recognition, gain reputation and credibility while increasing your link popularity. Done wrongly, and it will do nothing but increase your reputation and credibility. Done correctly, and it can raise your ranking popularity and bring you added customers on top of the other benefits. Take the time to learn how to write effectively. Write daily and learn the flow of your chosen language. Write truthfully and credibly. Make sure to give provable facts while keeping the hype to a minimum. Use keywords in your Author Boxes and find highly trafficked sites to submit to. Learn to write in such a way that engages your readers’ minds and makes them want to read more of your writing. If you can do all this, not only will you become a trusted expert, but you will also gain increased traffic to your web site and leverage your web site income goals through increased link popularity and higher search engine rankings. At the least, it will give you plenty of content to update your web site and increase search engine spidering.

What’s all this hype about links? Comments (0)

Linking

What’s all the talk about links we hear about? Reciprocal links? Non-reciprocal links? Targeted links? Link Popularity? I need links. You should have links. What about the dead links? I don’t have enough links! Ever since I joined the link farm, I dropped out of the search engines! Well, you musn’t fret; we’re going to shed the light on all theses different links. You’ll learn the different types, how to get them, how to keep them and how to keep them current.

Let’s start with some definitions.

Reciprocal Link (Two-way link): When you link to a web site and that web site links back to you, you have one reciprocal link. Reciprocal links need to be related to your web site’s subject matter. For example, if your web site sells Milk, then links from other sites that sell milk products. Sites about dairy products would also be good reciprocal linking candidates. While, a link from say a tobacco company would not be recommended. Your reciprocal links need to be related to your web site’s main keyword phrase or subject matter.

Non Reciprocal Link (One-way): These links are the most beneficial and also can be the hardest to obtain. Links from search engines or directories are a form of a non-reciprocal linking. However, the links that hold the most weight with the search engines are from other relevant web sites, sites we have not linked to. When a dairy site links to your milk site because they feel your site is of value to their visitors, it is the ultimate compliment and also holds more weight in the search engines. The best way to get this type of link, is to have unique content that is well written. Your site needs to look professional and sound professional. Related sites will be eager to link to you because you have quality, relevant content.

Targeted Links: Targeted links are just what they sound like, links that are related to your sites main subject matter. For example, if you have a site devoted to music then links from other music sites or music stores are good, while links from a site specializing in window blinds are not so good.

Text Links: Text links are simply that, text links. Text links are very important as a search engine can follow a text link and catalog it. It’s like a vote for your site.

Graphical Links: Graphic links, such as logos and banners, may look great and attract visitors, but they cannot be read by search engines and are rarely followed by them. While having a graphical link, such as a logo, can give you some recognition and look professional, it must be well made and identifiable. Furthermore, you should always add alt* tags to the graphic html code, as alt tags help with content and keyword density. A text link directly below the graphic for the search engines to follow should be included when ever possible.

* (An alt tag or alternate text is an attribute added to the image tag in html. It is designed to give a text example of what the image is for people browsing without image support, some search engines count this as part of the page content.)

Links Page: This is very important. Your links page needs to fit into your site. It should have the same look and feel as the rest of your pages. Unless you only have five or ten links on your link page, you will need to have categories and even sub-categories for extensive link pages. It’s important to keep the number of links per page as low as possible and never over 100 links.

Adding a small form for visitors to suggest links can be a nice feature and I recommend it, but it also can lead to a lot of off-target links suggestions.

When exchanging links, you will have to show the other site owners where their link is placed on your site. Therefore, you’ll want to have the links page well laid out and visually appealing.

Dead Links: This is really a maintenance issue, sites go off-line, from time to time page addresses change, or the site changes owners and the content changes. It is important to check your links often to ensure you don’t have a page full of dead links or links that have changed and now point to unrelated content. If you don’t keep up on this task, you will soon have a page full of dead links and visitors wont come back to use it. Search engines also frown on pages with too many dead links.

Link Farms: Link farms should be avoided; adding your site to one can cause you to loose popularity or have a negative effect on your Page Rank, joining one and displaying their links on your site can get you banned from the most important search engines. With 90% of web traffic originating from only a hand full of search engines, this is something you don’t want to happen. It is almost impossible to reverse and it can take you out of the search engines for up to a year or more. Staying away from places that guarantee hundreds or thousands of links by filling out a form.

Links should be arranged one at a time by contacting the desired site owner, by e-mail or more prefferrably by phone, and notifying them that you want to exchange links. This is the best way to do it, any short cuts or get link quick schemes can lead to trouble as soon as the search engines crawl your site.

Links are very important to any site that wants to rank highly in the top search engine results. The more targeted links you have pointing to your site, the more important your site is to the search engines. It’s like a voting system. If 100 sites think your content is worth linking to, then search engines like Google will take notice. However, if 10,000 related sites link to you, then search engines will treat you like a king and you will be on the A list for sure.

Should you buy text links? Comments (0)

Linking

You can rank number one (Or at least in the top ten) for just about any search phrase by just buying text link ads, even if the web site isn’t related to the search phrase in anyway, it can still rank in the top ten of the search results. Some web site owners see this as the only true way to the top ten. So, should you buy your way to the top? Or should you play it safe?

Some say it’s better to be safe than sorry. While others say if you play it safe and never make it to the top ten of the search results, your losing anyway. So, it must be much better not to play by the rules and get a top ten ranking and make a little money before you get banned from the search engines. Well, it’s not that easy and you can see the cons and pros in both ways.

First let’s look at the pros of playing it safe. The first one is obvious and it’s that you have a lot less chance of getting banned and much safer. At the same time you can peacefully sleep at night without worrying whether you’ll be banned the next day you wake up. It also allows you to save money and spend it else where, such as PPC (Pay Per Click) search engines, banner advertisement, mailing list and offline advertising. You can also rank number one without buying text link ads if you provide good content because many other webmasters will link to you just because you have good content and it provides their users with valuable information. You could also exchange links with other web sites. If you correctly SEO (Search Engine Optimization) your web site you can get a fairly good search engine ranking.

There are also several cons of playing it safe. Besides the fact that text link ads help improve your search engine ranking, they also bring in a good amount of traffic. In order to get a good amount traffic from links you would need more than just a few backlinks, but since you won’t be buying them, you will not being getting that many web sites linking to you and most of them are from web sites that are not popular among internet users.

All the major search engines see backlinks from quality sites as a vote for the web site being linked to, by playing it safe it will take much longer to get a top ten ranking because of the lack of backlinks. It can take years before you will rank for any popular search term because you will only be getting links the natural way. Without many backlinks you’ll also have a hard time getting in the search engines.

Now the pros of buying text link ads. Buying text links ads will help improve your search engine ranking, which can bring more traffic than from a link from any web site because. Each link acts as a vote your web site in the search engine’s eye, so the more you buy, the higher you’ll rank. If you buy an enough text link ads your web site can rank number one for just about any search term.

Text link ads can also send a fair amount of visitors that’s targeted. Resulting in more and new customers. Getting a link from a web site that’s trusted and well known can help build your web site’s brand and increase your credibility because visitors will see the link as a recommendation to your web site. Which will also help bring in new customers because they trust you more than they did before.

The cons of buying text link ads make many people think twice about buying text link ads. It will cost a lot of money to buy text link ads. You need to pay for your link to stay on a web site for at least two months before you will see any major boost in your search engine ranking. You may never get your money back because there’s so many things that can go wrong.

It can also hurt your search engine rankings if you don’t do it correctly and safely. You should never buy a lot of text links ads all at once, some search engines can detect this and may ban your web site from the search results due to this. There are other ways the search engines can find out that the links are being sold, meaning some links on certain web sites may never count in the search engines.

The Conclusion - Now that you have seen the pros and cons you can decide for your self whether you should buy them or not.

How To Get An Extra 108,160 Hits A Year! Comments (0)

Linking

Most of you have seen those little award graphics on web sites. They are given to the web site by another web site or award association to reward the web site for a specific reason. They usually link right to the site that has given the award.

These award sites are drawing tons of traffic to their own web site. The reason is because all the web sites who get the awards are linking right back to them by posting the award on their web site.

What is stopping you from offering other awards to other web sites? You could design a graphic for the award. The graphic could include something that will draw them to your web site. Have an online form at your web site so other people can enter to qualify for the award. You then judge all the entrees and pick a winner. You give them the award graphic with a link included. They post it on their web site and now they’re linking your web site.

You could offer web site awards for many reasons. The web site might offer outstanding and original content. The design of the web site could be very professional. It could have a fast load time. It could include original web features that aren’t found on most web sites. The site may be easy to navigate through.

Let’s say you give out 20 web site awards a week. In a year that would be 1040 people linking to your web site. If you received 2 hits a week from each link, that would be 104 hits a year from each award you have given. That equals an extra 108,160 hits to your web site a year!

Get your site noticed and build that traffic! Comments (0)

Linking

Traffic, is one of the magic words on the internet! The number or volume of visitors to your online business website is what ultimately dictates the success or failure of your home based business or online venture.

You can have the best looking website on the internet, offering the most incredible product to your potential customers, but if no one comes to visit then all your design efforts will have been in vain.

Now none of us want that do we? I know I certainly don’t because I want people to see what I have done and to buy what I have to offer! What about you? I am sure you would like nothing more that to have a constant flow of people to your online business website. Here are some proven ways in increasing the volume of users who will visit your site.

Use Overture.

Overture is a subsidiary of Yahoo that offers a powerful keyword suggestion tool that helps you come to find the right keywords. If you are using the right keywords on your website then they will bring in more visitors for your site.

With Overture you type in the words that are related to your online business products or services, and see how many searches were made for those particular entries. The more searches there are, the more you should consider using those keywords in your site.

Submit your site to the many search engines on the web.

We all use search engines when we are looking for information on the internet. Can you imagine what life on the internet would be like without the Search Engines? Doesn’t bear thinking about does it? So you need to harness the power of the search engines to ensure that when people use search engines to determine their destination they have the option of coming to your website!

Know the value of keywords.

Search engine spiders are sent to fetch the keywords embedded in your site, so it would serve you well if your pages are populated with the right keywords you’ve acquired from Overture. So without turning your online business website into page after page simply made up of your keywords you need to ensure that your online business keywords are prevalent throughout your website. The Search Engine Optimisation phrase to cover this is “Keyword Density” and that is such a big subject that it will be covered in a separate article very soon!

Provide quality content.

As I have already suggested simply populating your site with keywords would be useless if done carelessly. Your visitors will be looking for information, and if you don’t give them what they are looking for then they will just leave as quickly as they came. Remember, you want quality visitors, those who have the highest possibility of purchasing what you have to offer. You have to provide good, informative content for them so that they’ll stay. Try to publish articles or special reports on your site, where your keywords are strategically positioned in the body of your content at a density level of at least 2% (2 mentions of the keywords per 100 words of the body).

Promote in online communities.

Get the word out to the wider world by joining forums, mailing lists, discussion boards and similar online places where your target audience is likely to gather. Many people start threads asking for help. Help them by providing answers to their questions and you will start to build your reputation within your field of expertise. More often than not, in online forums you are allowed to have a signature where you can put a link to your online business website and this will certainly bring in some visitors as well.

Create a reason to return

You need to aim at encouraging return visitors to your online business website. You can build your own mailing list to keep in touch with them and offer some promotions or special offers from time to time. Alternatively you could incorporate a forum into your website to provide for a venue for your visitors to come together and discuss certain topics. This would simulate the semblance of a community they could call their own, and they would keep visiting your site to join in the discussions.

Constantly refresh and update your content.

Not only will this win the favour of search engines, but it will also increase the possibility of attracting visitors you once lost.

During the early stages of your online business website’s existence, traffic may come slowly. However, do not be discouraged into giving up. With the techniques shared in this article, you can increase the flow of visitors in due time, resulting in a high level of activity for your online business venture. With a prosperous website comes a prosperous business!

Link Building Success Comments (0)

Linking

A proven method in the modern search engine optimization world without any doubt is how successfully you create a powerful network of links pointing at your website. Google specifically and other leading search engines nowadays put emphasis on the number and quality of links that directly or indirectly shoot at your website.

It’s not a couple of years ago that all you had to do was making web pages loaded with keywords or what is called keyword rich web pages, at present if you want to appear on first pages of search engines, you necessarily have to have valuable, high quality links to your website, and this can be done in several methods.

Some people think that Ok, yesterday we registered a domain, and today we set up our web hosting account and tomorrow we buy links from so many websites offering text links or banner links and so the next week we are in the top ten results of search engines and two weeks from now, we will be circled by thousands of visitors to our website and so our newly launched business will skyrocket.

Unfortunately or fortunately this is not the case, time is needed, and you have to be very smart and patient at the same time, it’s a general belief among leading online web marketing experts that you shouldn’t expect a miracle to happen in the first six months of being online.

The reason is that search engines in addition to the number of links established to your site, they calculate the lifespan of the links as well. For example, links that you buy or other webmasters exchange with you are nice but their powerful effect appears after usually three months of establishment.

So, please be patient and look for quality links. For instance if you set up a web business about website design, try to exchange or buy links with other webmasters in the same related field, how on earth a link from a website that sells books can help your web ranking in search engines? The other case is true as well, only 5 quality links from related websites are much better than hundreds of links from unrelated sources.

By quality, I mean links that come from authoritative sources and websites, as you know the importance of links is measured through pagerank, for example 5 links with pageranks of 5 are much better than 10 links of pagerank 2. Please note that monthly links are not very much helpful, so if you buy text links make sure you order for several month, or when you decide exchanging links with other webmasters, make sure you both are determined to display each other links for years to come, and this is the place where the importance of yearly links and permanent links are eminent.

As you might know there are certain related websites called directories that offer permanent or yearly based subscriptions, links from these websites are very helpful. But there is a minor hidden fact that some directories are called link farms because they do not have any contents except for links, so be aware as to where your links appear on, on useful related directories that contain useful content as well as links or merely some websites that are loaded with thousands of links, stay away from such artificial link building strategies.

Another very important note about establishing links is how the actual link points at your website, as in our previous example, if you want to pay for a link to point at your website design related website, arrange the format of the link in a way that the anchor text or the clickable part of the link contains the words website design and not necessarily your website name, this is a proven method.

The other note that can be mentioned in here is the number of links per page, for example if another webmaster put your link on a page with 20 other links, this is nice and acceptable but if your link is seen on a page among 150 other links, you see this is not recommended.

Search engine friendly pages too are very important, make sure your link appears on pages that are indexed by search engines easily, how, if the link Url contains only your real Url, this is great but if the link is established through programming codes, not very much useful.

Google Is About To Shake Again: Part 1 Comments (0)

Linking

Back in the summer of 2004, Google forced uproar within the internet community. Thousands were affected by having been dropped from the search engines totally and some even experienced being banned by the Mega-Search Daddy.

Well, like all quakes there will be tremors to follow. According to Google’s latest shake is the filing for a US patent 20050071741 on March 31, 2005. And, again this time the shake will prove devastating for some unsuspecting long term grandfathered sites.

Not only has Google made it apparently clear that it will eventually “flush” the old to invite the new but, Google has also revealed its criteria on what was acceptable and not acceptable with the current linking strategies commonly used.

Since Google is largely focused on their new algorithms that effect linking, there are a few things you should know.

1.Reciprocal links will now only carry weight towards page rank if the link is relevant to the theme of your site. In other words, if your site is about cookbooks, don’t get caught linking back to a site about gun cases. That might be tempting if you have a page that displays recipes for venison but, Google will probably not make the connection.

2.Links either back linked or forward linked are now given a history data algorithm. This means that old or stale links that have not been maintained as fresh and updated information will be penalized. Dispose of broken or dead links. Rotate newer updated links to the top of their perspective categories within your linking directories on a monthly routine bases.

3.Anchor Text now has its own score as well. When reciprocating links it is no longer acceptable to Google to have too many backward links using the same key phrase. This is now considered “Anchor Spam”. Vary your anchor text using several different pertinent key phrases matching the theme of your site.

4.The use of Third party Link Exchanges are now under their radar. Make sure your Link Directory is hosted on your server and not by a third party. All links should be relevant to your site theme. Organically grow your link directory; using artificial link injection will get you flagged.
