What kind of Yoga and Meditation leads to gaining Enlightenment in this life? Comments (0)

School of Religion

What kind of Yoga and Meditation leads to gaining Enlightenment
in this life?

Every process of Yoga… neigh meditation that frees us from the
clutches of attachment… bondage or Moha, whatever we may call
it… Is the right process on the path of gaining Enlightenment.

Are Yoga and Meditation two different words with different
meanings? No, the truth is not so… we need to understand that
it is the path of yoga which shall lead us to gaining
Enlightenment within this life. And what does yoga itself mean?
The word yoga has been derived from the Hindi root yog and which
in Hindi means synthesizing two things. In Hindi two plus two
equal four… and the effort of our soul (the atman within) to
merge with the super soul (the Parmatman, the Almighty God) is
known as yoga.

Yoga in other words is the effort of every soul to merge with
the Almighty God at the earliest. And for this to be achieved we
need to follow a routine of yogic exercises and also meditate
(perform yoga) on the Almighty God. This process of meditation
can be best understood once we are able to understand the
meaning of Meditation. Meditation in Hindi means yoga. Never
otherwise or vice versa!

To be able to rightly perform Yoga (Meditation) we need to
concentrate on the basic belief of life and that is… the basic
building block of the total Cosmos is an atom. A cluster of
atoms grouped together are called as molecules and a cluster of
molecules is what the whole complex Cosmos comprises of. Truly
speaking… the whole Cosmos is built up of clusters of atoms
and molecules and there is nothing solid in the whole Cosmos.
Everything in the Cosmos has a gaseous formation… a form of
energy. As we have seen in the Star Trek serial during the
deportation of human beings from one place to another… they
get transformed into pure energy for a temporal phase.

This is the only vital truth of life we cannot get away with…
seeing from the senses point of view… things appear to be
gaseous and also solids but in the cosmic domain it is only the
gaseous formation which holds good. Once we are clear with this
issue in respect of every human being and every living being
(Jiva as we call it in Hinduism) living on mother earth being
gaseous formations… we need to understand that it is only
after having gained control of the senses and the mind shall we
be able to transcend the earthly plane and be able to truly
visualize whatever was pictured in the telly serial Star Trek.

Performing Yoga (Meditation) is the process which enables us to
cut across the shackles of the senses and the mind and to be
able to come free of the senses and the mind… one needs to
perform yoga (meditation) in a manner that the dross within our
soul (atman) reduces at a faster pace. The complete dross having
removed… one would have gained absolute control over the
senses and the mind! This is the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi as
we know it in Hinduism. The stage of Nothingness… it is when
the senses and the mind have lost their entity and the purified
soul engages itself in one to one dialogue with the Almighty
God, the super soul.

Now… the question arises is how-to perform the Meditation
(Yoga as we call it in Hinduism). And the meditation can best be
performed by lying in Shavasana pose (the death pose) and
following the path of Neti (not this… not this). And by doing
this what are we trying to achieve? Is it possible to gain
Enlightenment by this process? Yes! It is a foolproof process
which shall gain us Enlightenment in the end.

What is the Shavasana pose? In yogic exercises the Shavasana
pose carries the most importance for one on the path of gaining
Enlightenment. It is this process of Shavasana in which one can
lie down in the death pose and concentrate on the process of
breathing. While lying down in the Shavasana pose as we
gradually realize the ultimate truth of life that it is not the
body which is inhaling the requisite essentiality (the pure air)
but it is our soul (the real self within) the body which needs
the pure oxygen… the body tends to lose its meaning.

We become more and more aware of the real truth within us and
that truth is our soul (atman) which resides within our body.
Slowly one more fundamental of life shall dawn upon us and that
it… it is not the body which has taken the soul but it is vice
versa which is the absolute truth. As we realize that our
existence as a body is merely a covering… a garment for our
real self… our Soul (Atman) within us… we would ultimately
come to the conclusion that why not retain our true real self
alone. What of the body then? Is it to be discarded? And if the
body is discarded… the manifest self of us… our existence in
this world would die!

Proceeding on the path of spirituality through logical
conclusions as in the dialogues of Plato… cutting one untruth
after another leads us towards higher planes of spirituality.
Becoming freer from the clutches of the senses… we find a
gradual change within our personality. The ultimate truth having
dawned upon us that the present body is merely a garment for the
inner real self of us… our desire of gaining Enlightenment
within this life becomes stronger.

What is Neti? The path of Neti as practiced and followed by
Maharishi Ramana! While lying down in the Shavasana pose is it
not worthwhile to concentrate on the existence of God. We have
come to a conclusion earlier that everything is gaseous in
nature and what then? We would slowly realize that the only
existence in this gaseous formation is of different souls and
the Karta, Parmatman (as we call it in Hinduism) the Almighty
God himself. There is nothing else apart from the souls, the
Almighty God, the ether which comprises of the vast Cosmos.

Now if we desire to gain Enlightenment in this life… then we
have to negate the existence of everything in our physical
manifested world. The process of Neti (not this… Not this) is
the process of negation as practiced and advocated by Maharishi
Ramana… the one and the only path to cut across the shackles
of the senses and the mind. It is only following the path of
Neti while lying down in Shavasana pose that I realized God
one-day. Having traversed the path… I can with hundred percent
certainties say that the Shavasana pose and the process of Neti
is the best form of Meditation one can ever imagine of.

Summarizing all… I can only quote of whatever I have
personally experienced… I have nothing more to say!

May God bless all those on the path of Enlightenment!

REFLECTIONS ON THANKSGIVING DAY 2005 Comments (0)

REFLECTIONS ON THANKSGIVING DAY 2005

Every Thanksgiving, my family comes together at my oldest
sister’s and her husband’s house. I have four sisters and our
parents have already gone on to be with the Lord. My
brother-in-law, Joe, arises early in the morning and begins to
cook the turkey, chicken, boston butts, and sausage over his
pecan and oak fueled cooker. I live nearby him, and can smell
the aroma of the cooking meat. This Thanksgiving, I went down
there early and ate a piece of that sausage..boy was it good!

All the extended family, some friends and neighbors begin to
arrive around 11:30. It was a beautiful, sunny South Georgia
day…a perfect day for enjoying the food and company of loved
ones. I pulled an old fashioned bottled Coke from the ice
covered tin tub, opened it up, and enjoyed the taste of ice Coke
from the bottle. Earlier, I had placed Cokes, Orange and Grape
Crushes, Root Beer, and Wild Cherry Sodas in this metal tub,
throwed on the ice, and waited for them to get cold. All the
little ones (and old ones I might add) seemed to enjoy this
special treat.

As it came time to eat, I looked at the well laden table and
reflected on God’s goodness to me and my family. Joe asked for
quietness (hard to accomplish when all the little ones are
running around), and said a few special words. One of the things
that he said was, “Just for today, enjoy this day. Forget your
troubles, and just be thankful for your blessings.” He asked me
to say the prayer, and I asked the Father in heaven to bless the
food and our time together.

The food was wonderful, and afterwards, we gathered under
Shirley and Joe’s large outdoor patio, and sang a few songs. My
daughter, Eva, and her husband, Jack, led the singing. We sang
“Will The Circle Be Unbroken”, “Poor Wayfaring Stranger” and
others. It was such a special time.

Some of the ones there was there for the first time. My special
friend, Nancy, had two of her children there from Texas. John
and Beth are both students at the University of Texas, and had
come to spend the Thanksgiving holidays with there Mom. Debbie
and Sonny, my son-in-law’s parents, also spent the day with us.
There were several other new faces, and they were received with
open arms. Shirley and Joe are both gracious and giving, and we
sure appreciated them opening their home to all of us.

Some of our family members were missing. My oldest daughter,
Joy, her husband, David, and their son, Josh, live in England so
were not with us. Joy did call and talk to many of us. She
always enjoyed these Thanksgiving get togethers. My son, Joel,
spent Thanksgiving with his girlfriend and her family. It was
the first one he has missed since we started the Thanksgiving
tradition. My niece, April, was not there. She recently was
married and lives in California. My nephew, Tyron, was not there
and two of my brother-in-laws did not make it.

As I looked around and saw the faces of my loved ones and
friends, I reflected on the ones who used to be there but had
gone on to be in that Family Circle in heaven…Mama, Daddy,
Eric, our neighbors, Pat and Mrs. Kelly. I know that they would
have enjoyed this Thanksgiving.

After the singing, I cranked up my blue Ford 3000 tractor, and
took everyone on a hayride. I had to make three trips, even with
the 18 foot trailer, to make sure everyone got a ride. I admit I
enjoyed being the tractor driver, and as I looked back at all
them loved ones I was hauling, I was thankful. Some of the
grandkids, grandnephews, and nephews shot basketball…Yes, I
shot with them…One of my grandnephews, Caleb, said to his
third cousin, D.J., “We let an old grandpa beat us!” My
grandson, Dusty, Joy’s 11 year old son, came to spend the
afternoon and night with us, and I was glad he did. He lives
with his Dad and stepmom in nearby Waycross.

As it began to get dark, Joe built a bonfire, and two of my
nephews put on a fireworks display. The little ones were
roasting marshmallows, and Shirley’s friend’s son began picking
his guitar and singing. It really was a special time. Austin, my
three year old grandnephew, roasted me two marshmallows, and
insisted I eat them all. I did.

This was a great day, a day of memories, a day of blessings from
heaven, and I believe a way of passing down our love for each
other to the little ones…they will remember this day.

To my sisters, Shirley, Evelyn,Linda, and Joanne…thanks for
your love and support. To my daughter Eva…you were so glowing
when you were singing, and I know the child (my third
grandchild) you are carrying will be a blessing and joy. To my
Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, thank you for placing me in this
family.

A Poor Man, With Rich Mans Dreams

Matthew 19:17-19:23

A Poor Man, With Rich Mans Dreams Have you ever heard the
phrase, a poor man with rich mans dreams? Many people in this
life are completely exhausted by the race to wealth and
prosperity. Looking for today and not for tomorrow. The poor man
has only today, struggling to make ends meet, putting food on
the table for his family and hoping that the next phone call he
gets, isn’t from his boss, telling him that he no longer has a
job. I’ve seen many this past week, loose every thing that
they’ve had, home, furniture, everything. The only thing these
people have now is the cloth on their backs. There are
approximately 195 verses in scripture concerning the poor . The
Bible states that God, creates the Rich and the poor. But there
is no difference between them when it comes to judgments. A poor
man dreams of a better day, without debt, without worry, without
strife. He dreams sweet dreams of a day when he can rest from
his labor and dreams of family, babies and his wife. The rich
man has troubled sleep, worried about finances, and national
debt, about rising oil prices and interest rates. His days are
filled with worry over thoughts of others trying to take what he
has. In the story of Matthew 19:17-23 we are shown a good
example of failure to abide by the great commandment in the law.
Which to me is the greatest commandment of all. Mat 22:36-38
Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said
unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first
and great commandment. Now lets look at failure to abide by this
commandment. Mat 19:17-23 And he said unto him, Why callest thou
me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou
wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him,
Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not
commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false
witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love
thy neighbour as thyself. The young man saith unto him, All
these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that
thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in
heaven: and come and follow me. But when the young man heard
that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great
possessions. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say
unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of
heaven. Pro 3:13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the
man that getteth understanding Psa 127:2 It is vain for you to
rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for
so he giveth his beloved sleep. There is no need for a poor man,
who puts his trust in God to worry. The poor man is confident in
the Lord to provide him his daily needs. Psa 4:8 I will both lay
me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me
dwell in safety. The poor man is free from worry, over someone
robbing his home, for his possessions are few and his wealth is
in his dreams and in his heart, where no man can take. 1Sa 2:8
He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the
beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make
them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth
are the LORD’S, and he hath set the world upon them. The poor
mans dreams are set on Gods promise, “The meek shall inherit the
Earth.” When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea,
thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. Pro 3:19-27
The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath
he established the heavens. By his knowledge the depths are
broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew. My son, let not
them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:
So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck. Then
shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not
stumble. When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea,
thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. Be not afraid
of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it
cometh. For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy
foot from being taken. Withhold not good from them to whom it is
due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. The cries
of the poor man. Job 30:25 Did not I weep for him that was in
trouble? was not my soul grieved for the poor? Your stature in
this life has no effect on God and His love for you. Psa 40:17
But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art
my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God. “yet the
Lord thinketh upon me:” isn’t this a true comfort to those who
are poor, a dream of the Lord God almighty, sitting on a throne,
creator of all, master of the universe, commander of the
greatest army, and still in all of Gods thoughts, and in all of
Gods majesty, He still has the time to think upon the poor man
and his dreams. Wonderful isn’t it? Have we become a people,
like the rich young ruler, people that have great possessions
and still have nothing but troubled sleep, are we a people that
despise the poor, because they remind us of ourselves earlier in
life, or do we despise the poor because they are not as we are?
Have we forgotten that, our possessions belong to the Lord
anyway, that those things that we posses are just loaned to us
to help others, the Bible states that, We work to give to
others. A poor man dreams of, Pearly Gates and streets of Gold,
He dreams of rivers of living water and quires of Angels
singing, He dreams of a tree of life and skies of blue, He
dreams of eternal sunshine and walks on clouds of white. He
dreams of an eternal city where He will never grow old, where
his labor is thru, no sickness, no tears and no final farewells
to those he loves. This is what is meant by A Poor Man, with
Rich Mans Dreams.

Worship and Praise in Charismatic Churches Comments (0)

School of Religion

This article was in response to an email about someone being a little uneasy about the praise and worship in charismatic churches.

I received your email with the questions you sent. I’ll go ahead and answer them under the captions below. You said you are not comfortable with and are having a hard time adjusting to the more intense levels of praise and worship that you are seeing in the non-denominational charismatic churches - especially with you coming from a Catholic background.

I know quite a few ex-Catholics who now belong to charismatic non-denominational churches who had a hard time initially adjusting to the intensity levels on the way charismatics worship and praise. A lot of newcomers have a real hard time when they first walk into a Spirit-filled charismatic type church - it is a major shock to their spiritual senses. You are not alone in your feelings on this issue!

The first thing you need to realize is that you should never compare your level of spiritual development with anyone else’s. One of the things that I feel I have picked up from the Lord is that everyone is operating at different levels of spiritual development. And everyone advances, in their spiritual walk with the Lord, at different rates of speed. You should never compare where you are currently at with the Lord with anyone else - including all of the people you see at your church.

When you first enter into a real walk with the Lord, the first thing He is going to do is to start working with you at the level that you are currently operating at. He will not expect you to be operating at some of the “higher” levels you may see with some of these people who have been walking with Him for 30 years.

The Bible says that God is the Potter and we are the clay. It is God’s job to mold, shape and transform us into the image of His Son Jesus over the course of this life. This transforming process does not occur overnight. It is a very gradual, slow process that will literally take place over the entire course of your life.

God actually does this through the Holy Spirit who lives on the inside of you. Another word for this transforming process is sanctification. God is in the business of making us into better and more holy people.

If you are not comfortable at your current level of spiritual development with the Lord to raise your hands and sing as intensely as what you are seeing in this church - then I would not worry about it at this time!

You are 100 percent correct when you say you are not comfortable with singing and raising your hands just to be like everyone else. You have to be true to yourself and be true to the Lord.

God perfectly knows where you are at in your own level of spiritual development. If this type of worship and praise is not coming naturally to you and you are not comfortable in expressing yourself like this in a public setting, then I would let it go at this time and not do it until you are more comfortable in giving it a try.

God will have no problems with you on this issue because you are just being honest with yourself and with Him. He knows that you are not currently at that level to be able to do this at this time. I actually believe that He would more approve of you not doing it because you are being honest with Him and true to yourself as versus trying to do it just to be like everyone else.

The Bible says that God always looks on the heart of a person. He knows you better than you can ever know yourself. He perfectly knows why you do what you do and what your motives are. If you try to worship and praise like some of the others just to be like them - and it is not really coming from your heart - God will see right through it - and I believe you are better off not doing it until you feel you are ready to make that kind of a leap.

Do not trip or get on a guilt trip because this is not coming to you naturally at this time. The Bible says that there is “no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

If anyone else looks at you funny because you are not following the crowd - then they are wrong and they are operating under judgmental and critical spirits which the Lord detests. Don’t worry about what anyone else may say or think about you for not being able to do this at this time. God is the only one that you have to please and seek approval from.

The fact that you are expressing yourself so honestly in not being comfortable with this at this time shows that you are being honest with yourself and with God. Trust me - this really pleases God when you take this kind of honest approach with Him!

What God is looking from you at this time is that you keep walking with Him and allow Him to start gradually building you up in Him and all of His ways. God will start to build up your knowledge base in Him if you are open to receiving it.
The two main things God wants from you at this time is that you:

  1. Continue to walk with Him and draw closer to Him in your own personal relationship that you have established with Him.
  2. And to increase your knowledge levels about Him and all of His ways by reading the Bible. My initial impression from the way you worded your email is that you are “seeking” after Him and that is what He wants from you more than anything else.

The Holy Spirit

The second thing you need to realize when you watch a lot of these people worship and praise as intensely as they are - is that this ability to really do this comes from the Holy Spirit. The Bible talks about us being able to worship, sing and praise God “in the Spirit.”

The word “Spirit” is with a capital “S” which means it is referring to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the one who gives you the power and supernatural ability to really worship God the Father in the way that you are seeing a lot of these people do.

These people are “in the Spirit” when they are singing and raising their hands. The reason that you are not comfortable in being able to worship and praise like these people are doing is because this supernatural ability has not been imparted to you at this time from the Holy Spirit.

If you continue on in your walk with God, the time may come where the Holy Spirit will start to move on you in a church setting and give you the ability, the courage and the desire to worship God in this manner. You will know it when it comes on you.

But until that time comes - just be yourself in the church setting and do just what comes naturally to you and what you are comfortable with in doing. That is all God is looking from you. God is not comparing you with anyone else in that church. He is looking at you as an unique, special individual and He will be judging you at the way you operate at your own level of spiritual development.

Comparing Yourself With Others

The second thing you mention in your email is that everyone appears to be so good and that you feel like such a sinner compared to how good and holy some of these other people look like.

As I’ve stated above, you should not be comparing yourself with any of these other people. First of all, you have no idea how holy or how good some of these people really are. You can’t always judge a book by its “cover” - by what you see on the outside.

The other thing to realize is that from time to time you are going to run across some people who really are holy and good. These people will be Spirit-filled to the point you can literally see almost a glow or radiance coming out of their face. You can sense that these people are really close to God and have a lot of knowledge about Him and the Bible. They are “advanced” in their walk with the Lord.

When you get around these types of people, you may at first feel intimidated and that you may not good enough to be around them. You can feel, you can sense that they are much more developed “in the Spirit” than you are.

Amy, when you run across these types of true saints - you should not feel intimidated or any less better than they are. The Bible tells us that “God is no respecter of persons” - that He loves everyone equally and unconditionally - and that includes you!

These people have paid their dues. They have walked with the Lord for years and have developed close relationships with Him. You can feel the anointing all of over these people.

You have to realize that your level of spiritual development is not going to be the same as everyone else’s. Some people will be more “advanced” than you are in their relationship with God and in their knowledge of Him.

Just realize that you could probably put everyone on a scale of 1-10 in their spiritual development with God. Where you are on the scale is irrelevant. What matters is that you are in the game trying to be the best person in the Lord that you can be - that you play the game as best and as hard as you can at the “level” that you are operating at. It’s God’s job to raise you up the scale as you progress in your walk and relationship with Him.

And whatever you do - do not ever question your salvation with the Lord. If you already know that you are saved - that you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior - then nothing can take that away from you - no matter how inferior or unworthy you may feel at times - especially when you start comparing yourself with others.

The Bible tells us that once we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior - then we are “sealed” with the Holy Spirit. That means it is a done deal - for eternity! Your salvation does not waver like your emotions or feelings do. Just because you may not “feel” saved if you are having a bad day does not mean you have lost your salvation. If it did, none of us would ever make it to heaven.

Rest assured - your salvation is a done deal! You have been sealed by God’s Spirit and nothing, and I mean nothing on this earth can ever take that away from you!
So don’t ever let your feelings of inferiority in how far others may be more spiritually advanced in their walk with the Lord than you are ever cause you to question your own personal salvation.

I hope all of the above answers all of your specific questions. If you have any further questions or things bothering you on the above issues, please feel free to email them over and we’ll hash it out until you get all of these things settled in your own mind.

School of Religion

Many in the World are taking concern and truth, for hatred and condemnation of other religions by Christians. In some circumstances they are correct, but in the majority they are wrong.

Christians are not reactionaries, confrontationalist, nor an army, seeking the death of all non believers. We must look closely at the messages and comments that are being made by concerned Christians over false religions, and their lack of, being able to provide salvation for the soul of man.

In John 9:4-5, we see the reason that many Christians have, and are still, speaking out, for the time is come to prepare to meet the Lord. Jesus Stated; “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.”

Here He was speaking of the proclamation of God, when He stated, “My Spirit shall not always strive with Man.” Once the Spirit of God is withdrawn from this earth, Darkness Falls. Jesus Was and still is, doing the works of the Father, for He stated that without Him we can do nothing.

The Spirit of Christ is manifest thru us, as witnesses of the Light. “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” This was speaking of the Spirit Of Christ that dwells within every believer. As Long as there are believers in Jesus and His light, He will be upon the Earth. Jesus exists within us, because we believe, without faith is would be impossible for any man to be saved.

Where there is light, there is also the possibility of darkness just around the corner. We have seen darkness and hatred of Christianity, Israel and Jesus. That old serpent Satan, has in the past weeks showed His willingness to kill converts to Christianity because they desired to come into the light, rather than to stay in Darkness.

Many of the so called peaceful religions have showed here recently, that they are Hippocritical within their own beliefs and have showed that they are, the darkness in a frightened world. These false religions would rather kill a convert rather than to allow many more, to convert to Christianity, believing that they would eventually lose their power over those they have kept in Darkness these many years.

This is where Christians, that have total faith would give their life instead of saving it, and speak out against this darkness. In Matthew 16:25 we see this. “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.” This world wide darkness is just a shadow, a lie, a deception, that keeps the unlearned and frightened, subject to the temporary power of Satan and His followers.

Many evangelicals are getting involved in politics and mans business rather than being about the Fathers Business. We are not to break the law but rather obey the law and not aid those that would break established law. In Luke 1:79 we see that many are sitting in darkness and at the point of immanent death. “To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”

John 1:9 That was the true light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. Every man that comes into this world, born of woman is introduced to the light, at the age of accountability, after, they must chose for themselves. There will be no excuse come judgment day. John 3:19 And this is the condemnation,(condemnation= an expression of strong disapproval; pronouncing as wrong or morally culpable. blame, censure, denunciation, reprehension, reprobation.) that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Darkness takes many forms in many religions, here is an example;

Koran; [9.5] So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.(This shows forced religion.)

[9.29] Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Apostle have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection. [9.30] And the Jews say: Uzair is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah(Jesus) is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!

[9.31] They have taken their doctors of law and their monks for lords besides Allah, and (also) the Messiah son of Marium and they were enjoined that they should serve one God only, there is no god but He; far from His glory be what they set up (with Him).

Luke 12:49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? This fire is, a fire of religious differences, hatred of the Light of Jesus by all other religions. Barnes states of Luke 14:49; And what will I … - This passage might be better expressed in this manner: “And what would I, but that it were kindled. Since it is “necessary” for the advancement of religion that such divisions should take place; since the gospel cannot be established without conflicts, and strifes, and hatreds, I am even desirous that they should come. Since the greatest blessing which mankind can receive must be attended with such unhappy divisions, I am willing, nay, desirous that they should come.”

He did not wish evil in itself; but, as it was the occasion of good, he was desirous, if it “must” take place, that it should take place soon. From this we learn:

1.That the promotion of religion may be expected to produce many contests and bitter feelings.

2.That the heart of man must be exceedingly wicked, or it would not oppose a work like the Christian religion.

3.That though God cannot look on evil with approbation, yet, for the sake of the benefit which may grow out of it, he is willing to permit it, and suffer it to come into the world.

In Luke 9:52 we see that Jesus did not desire the death of those that would not believe, but rather rebuked the Disciples for even considering it. Luke 9:52-56; And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him. And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem. And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elijah did? But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.

Here we see a spirit within James and John, that Jesus recognized but these two didn’t. For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives(No killing, Murder, not to kill but to save.), but to save them. And they went to another village. When people reject Jesus and the Bible as being Light, we do not condemn but we simply leave them to God and Move on. Remember we don’t, As Christians, Condemn the people, for it is not within our Power, but we condemn only the darkness and sin that is within them.

John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. So what does this all meen? The Darkness is runing rampent, and the Light is about to be extinguished so that no man can work(Ministers, Preachers, Teachers of the Truth.)

Isa 66:3 He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations. Isa 66:4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spoke, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not. ars
